Why not legalize pot and all other drugs?
Question by Funny…: Why not legalize pot and all other drugs?
Quick way to provide some funds for the cash-strapped federal government
End the drug war for the most part
Afghanistan would have a legal cash-crop that could be sold to western countries directly, encouraging western civility and discouraging association with terrorist groups who use poppy-seed profits to buy guns and fund terrorist operations
Drug-related violence and prison populations would go down
This really seems like a no-brainer to me. Legalize drugs and all of this would come true- it’s a fact. Proof of 2 positive effects-
“The paper, published by Cato in April, found that in the five years after personal possession was decriminalized, illegal drug use among teens in Portugal declined and rates of new HIV infections caused by sharing of dirty needles dropped, while the number of people seeking treatment for drug addiction more than doubled.”
