theAspenSoap is…. (working character descriptions) Lex Woodward (Lee Sullivan) has been the exclusive veterinarian on the Fitzgerald Polo farms for the past six years. Two years ago Susan Fitzgerald divorced her husband. A year later Lex moved in with her and her two teenage kids. Six blissful months into the year a tragedy strikes Lex so deeply that he quickly descends into alcoholism. The affair disintegrates and Lex is told to leave. Lex , who had no practice outside the polo farms and now an alcoholic, resorts to giving illegal Botox and Collagen shots to well heeled women in Aspen. Lex is almost caught up when Pitkin County sheriff Jack Rubin notices horses with puffed up lips on one of his patrols. Seems Lex needed to gain some “hands on” experience before graduating to the jet set. Susan Fitzgerald (Carolyne Heldman) is from a long line of blue bloods in Connecticut. She was married to Samuel Fitzgerald, an oil and gas man, for twenty years. Her marriage was not good. She and Lex had an immediate mutual attraction to one another when he first started working for the Fitzgeralds. After she divorced her husband the romance flowered. Dennis Maunte´(Ralph Sheehan) never made it to the big leagues. He was a touted baseball pitcher who grew up in Aspen. He made it to the Yankees spring camp for a season and then slipped literally on a banana peel in Miami, Florida. This unfortunate accident ruined his elbow for pitching and ended his career.
