South Africa’s dangerous new drug – 30 Oct 07

A flood of a cheap drug called Tik onto the South African market has left drugworkers with what they say is their biggest challenge yet. Users of the crystal meth based drug have lost their homes, their families, some turn to crime or end up in a mental asylum, but in the worst case, as Haru Mutasa reports they end up dead.

    actually botch is %100 percent correct.
    you are thinking of speed methamphetamines, was bascally pills of caffine n ephedrine, trucker speed, diet pills. crystal meth has not been around that long, and its more danderous cuz unlike speed, you cannot overdose one crystal and its cuts harder n more addictive. ive spent days ice skatin so i know what im talkin bout, clean now and goin thru school to be an addictions therapist.

    @botchalism

    Meth started becoming popular(in America) in the 70′s when doctors perscribed as an appetite suppressant. Don’t run your mouth when you don’t know what your talking about.

    Tik is Meth’s bigger, meaner brother. Like the clip said, it’s Meth based, but the drug dealers in South Africa add anything they can to it, thus making it cheaper and thus giving them a bigger market.. It’s Meth mixed with rat poison, acid, you name it. No two batches of tik is ever the same.

    Oh really? Heart exploding huh? Yeah that sounds like a realistic diagnosis, I’m sure your doctor told you that huh? Yeah didn’t think so. Most likely you got paranoid, felt your racing pulse, and freaked out and admitted yourself to detox. You look a little old to be doing meth, that wouldn’t help either. Meth started becoming popular around 2000 so that would put you at around 35, pretty old to be messing with any stimulants really.

    Whatever you say dude. If meth does not kill you directly it sure can kill indirectly. I messed with meth once in my life for a week and my heart almost exploded. I had to be rushed to the hospital, so don’t tell me meth does not kill, it just makes you look ignorant. Go smoke some more of that shit if you want but don’t come crying to me when you die or lose everything and everyone in your world.

    look ik. all im saying is in my opinion i believe cannabis is a better alternative to this and i know all about why cocain and meth were made illegal i watched a whole special on it on tv about government conspiracy theorys and they said basicly what you did so i give you that but methamphetamine is not even close to ritalin and other ADD medication. just because it is an amphetamine. caffiene is also an amphetamine but it is not nearly as bad as meth even tho is as addictive.

    Meth does not kill people, it is impossible to overdose on it unlike alcohol….

    Let me give you a hint oslotis, don’t judge lest ye be judged, the war on drugs is riddled with propaganda regardless the drug, Cocaine was not illegalized because it’s bad for the human body but because some newspaper article falsely claims it makes black men want to rape white women. It’s the same story with meth and if it were as horrible as they claimed it was they wouldn’t prescribe the stuff to children with ADD…
