Thank GOD New Year’s has no religious significance for Christians (like a lot of other days that come to mind).

Group outing to a movie?
Jadoremonchat says:
Just have one or two champagnes. You don’t have to get plastered when you drink…

You could go see a movie, or go for a walk in the park…or go out to a restaurant (maybe one that doesn’t have a bar?). My husband and I used to drive up to the mountains and watch the fireworks all over the city while wrapped in a blanket with some hot cocoa.

Watch the clock tick.. and then cheer???
Sort’a drab. But without booze what do you expect?

Just go out to diner. We are going to a wine makers diner….not totally without alcohol, but we certainly won’t be drunk.
Most dates would melt at the idea.

Do several things. 1. Start off your evening with a walk ( if it’s not too cold – but snuggle weather is the best for hand holding and well- snuggling. If not walking – a nice drive to see Christmas lights maybe or sightseeing.)
2. Take her for an extra special hot cocoa or apple cider available at all coffee houses and book stores.
3. Drop by your church for a quick “hello” do that & leave- don’t give in to their pressure of staying- say you have plans but wanted to stop for a sec. ( Do this because your going to impress your date that you are proud enough of her to “show her off” and you’re being polite to people you really have a bond with as well.)
4. Late dinner- candles please. Either make it for her yourself ( which she’ll love even if it’s burnt), or take her out. Someplace cozy is the point. Tell her your dreams ask her about hers.
5. Watch the ball drop together. Kiss at midnight. Sing Auld LangSyne; laugh while singing and try to figure the meaning of the song.
End your evening with a gorgeous memory for her- a sober evening for you – and twenty points in your “romance factor”.
