So are deadlift slippers and heeled boots, but you dont see people doing in bearfoot lifts in competition.
I was merely referring the rules. I understand your point; however unequipped rules allow a belt for safety…not to assist the lift
healthhavencom says:
Like you said, it is simple: A powerlifting belt is equipment, always and everywhere.
jasongriff123 says:
Belts are not considered as equipment in an unequipped competition! Simple.
Great lift.
rockhard2407 says:
Nice job! That is a unique style heels almost together but it works for you!
And about the belt, don’t sweat the negative comments, they have no clue.
A belt keeps you from getting hurt lifting the amount of weight you could lift anyway.
we both know there are squat suits and bench shirts that actually add 100s of pounds to what a lifter could otherwise lift.
again GREAT JOB!
healthhavencom says:
Pedantics? You must be kidding.
What’s the answer to the question: If a power belt isn’t equipment, then what is it?
ccsounds says:
Unequipped comp’s are trying to get back to the ‘old school’ way of lifting, i.e the days before suits, wraps, blast shirts & drugs etc… belts are necessary to protect the back.
Maybe they should call them ‘just belt comp’s’ to keep the pedantics happy
healthhavencom says:
If the lifter is wearing a lifting belt why does the title say “unequipped” ???
If a power belt isn’t equipment, then what is it? A fashion accessory?

secuervo says:
Nice pull. Especially for a guy that looks to be 6’2″ or taller. That is a long way to pull.

what does supplements have to do with anything? if i take protein, creatine, NO, im not natural??
ccsounds says:
LOL..I didn’t know they all did. As for DC,
it kinda helps (even if only in his mind) to take in a big big breath before starting the lift.
Thanks
Brefl says:
ccsounds,
Why do all deadlifters raise their arms like that???
There must be a good reason, but I can’t get it?!?
The video is terrific.
bigguvnor says:
but he still lifted the weight retard
ccsounds says:
First, we don’t make the rules, unequipped is without suits (belts are necessary to prevent back injury) Second, he’s been equipped British champion 16 times & is hoping to make it 17 this June (something no one else has ever achieved) he also holds British records for the unequipped squat, deadlift and total, he must be doing something right! What’s your cred’s by the way?
overmindo says:
First, he is indeed equipped (with a belt). Second, his technique doesn’t seem the best, regarding the position of his feet he shouldn’t be moving his head like that while lifting.
Beerynose says:
His technique is a bit like Vince Anello and we all know what a great deadlifter he was. Well done.
