I haven’t really fed myself in two days, due to my parents divorce. help…?
Question by Stephanie E.: I haven’t really fed myself in two days, due to my parents divorce. help…?
I’m 15 and an upcoming junior.
My parents recently divorced this week , because of my fathers alcoholism and how he practically chose that over his family.. the house is such a different feeling and it’s just not the same and I can’t seem to adjust very quickly..I look at food and I lose my appetite . all I want to do is sit in bed , or go outside and just sit in the sun.. I havent ate in two days, I’ve been drinking water, and I’ve had a few chips but other than that I can’t seem to make myself want to eat (I’m one of those people who can’t eat when sad) it might be stupid..but any ways I Can make myself want to eat again?/: please help.

Try Ice cream.

You need to eat ASAP. A human can’t go on for long without food. You’re doing yourself a disservice. I know that you must feel terrible, confused, and have your feelings in a jumble. Try eating something small first. What do you really like? And don’t survive on chips. Chips are unhealthy anyway, and eating them without any other diet is worse. Have some fruit, a piece of bread, and a glass of water. Even if you don’t want to, just have a little. Then, do something you like. Hang out with friends, go to the movies, watch T.V. Do you have a hobby you love? Indulge yourself in it for now. Good luck! Please eat!

Just be careful. It won’t do you any harm in the short term, but you could try drinking a slim fast or build up shake. it’s no long term solution, but at least your body will be getting some of the nutrients it needs, without you trying to force food down yourself.
It doesn’t sound stupid, not being able to eat when you’re sad, but from my own experiences (I barely ate a thing while my dad was seriously ill, and lost ridiculous amounts of weight, and kept getting dizzy and almost passing out) if it goes on for too long I would see if your GP could recommend somebody to talk to.
It will probably pass, but please do be careful.
