ERA news: PPLs can enhance the memory.

Do you want your children to become smarter? Do you want to improve your memory? One local biotech company has found a group of compounds called ppls, which in animal study can stimulate the outgrowth of neurites, and induce neural stem cells to differentiating into 60% of neurons. Dr. Chia-Nan Chen, Ph.D. of National Taiwan University said, “The neural network of our brains is similar to the internet network. The healthier our neural network, the faster our neural transmission. It’s like the upgrade from the traditional ‘dial-up’ to the modern ‘ADSL’ function. It can help you think and response faster, and become smarter”. Dr. Chen suggested, “ppls need more clinical trials before becoming a drug. Pregnant women and people with allergy should avoid taking this supplement due to its high activity.” Dr. Chen said, “ppls can induce the differentiation of neural stem cells, like ‘waking up’ the dormant stem cells. It may help prevent regressive neural diseases.” Because ppls have the property of neurotrophic factors, they can help the recovery of the damaged neurons. The focus of ppls research will be on developing into medicine for dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
