Question by Piinngooooo: How long does heroin stay in your system?
On Friday 13th I accidentally (i know it sounds crazy and fake) smoked a small amount of heroin. It was the first time and a small amount. I had a really emotionally weekend, seriously emotional. So I got so depressed that I fell ill on Monday. My parents are worried and want to take me to the doctors to get me checked out. I don’t know if it’s likely or possible, but if they drug test me will it show up?

Best answer:

Answer by Paul P
thats stupid
you hang out with the wrong people.

=]

Heroin itself, will come up in a urine test 3 to 4 days after using. The metabolytes of heroin will be there for a long time and can be detected several weeks later.

Question by Jamie: Is anyone out there a recovering heroine addict?
I am 24 and am a recovering heroine addict. I have been clean for 10 months now, and I did go to rehab. When I went into rehab I had been bartending for over a year and my counselor there told me I had to quit because I would trade one habit for the other, so I did. Now while I was there I was told to get a sponsor and do my steps but I just think it is stupid to tell a stranger all your problems and other stuff and the steps are dumb too. I don’t dog people that it works for but I just think its dumb. I learned a lot from my experience in rehab- now sometimes I do go out with my boyfriend and drink and they are very strict about “no mind altering chemicals because” it will make you want to use, but it doesn’t. I have not wanted to use at all and I know I never will again- plus my boyfriend who i love very much hates drugs. I know I was addicted, and it was for about 2 years O feel I just got caught up in a bad situation with a bad person, before heroine I tried a few drugs but never liked them. I guess my question is, is okay to not follow a program and have a sponsor? Does this work for anyone else? I did change my people, places, and things and I have so much support from family and friends, I also never received couseling once out of rehab and I don’t feel like I need it. My life is so great now and I do not attend N/A meeting either, they bore me and I hate them. Do you think I am okay now mentally? It was not easy at first but now I know I am fine. I would feel like a hippocrit going to a meeting when I ocasionally drink, I need some advice.

Best answer:

Answer by Ella
i think it would be okay for you to drink every once in a while as long as you don’t start craving drugs again. always have someone you trust with you though so you can tell them if you need to stop or just so they can watch out for you. but the moment you start craving tell a friend and have them help you.

What do you think? Answer below!

I just started talking to this guy and i know he used to do drugs and alcohol in the past. But he’s been clean now for a couple of years. I just don’t know what to say.. if anything about this issue. He has never brought it up with me (i found out from a friend). Idk if it’s wrong for me to talk about drinking to him. Should i just not talk about anything drug related? What would you do?

Question by CrimsonSmylez: What do you think about my story?
>This is just a couple of the first paragraphs….

“Eagle Eyes”

“Help” I use every last breath to screech out that one single word.
I shuffle around the cold floor, even though my hands and arms are bound with thick rope… trying not to make to much of a clatter, he might hear me. The rope is cutting into my leg as I roll into a more comfortable position. Then, I wonder to myself… is this how I will die? Certainly not! I quickly assure myself. I turn around abruptly, there he is staring at me… his eyes reach mine…
I call them “Eagle Eyes.”
Then, suddenly, bang…. A bash to the head…. I slowly drift into sleep.

“Robyn, can you hear me? Robyn.” the doctor shines a light in my eyes.
“Dad? Where am I?” I open my eyes and find my self in a small room at the University of North Carolina hospital. I look outside the window and an eagle is staring right at me.
“Your fine, you’ve just had some cuts and bruises.” my dad tells me. I can see the fear in his eyes.
“She should be fine in a couple days Mr. Sharp… I assure you.. It’s nothing serious.” the doctor winks at me as he explains the situation to my dad.
Well I can assure you, that it is serious. I am petrified at what will happen next…
“I’ll leave you two alone.” the doctor walks out with a grin on his face. I look towards my dad.
“The doctor said they found you on the side of a road down by Chapel Hill?” my dad glared into my eyes.
He was the type of guy that would ask a single question and can get the whole story in one minute. You see, my dad was a detective at the North Carolina Crime Scene Investigation. He was the best they had.

My dad and I live out by Dunham in a two bedroom ranch. My mother disappeared when I turned nine years old. About six years ago. She also worked for the North Carolina Crime Scene Investigation. No one knew what happened to her. Some people say she’s half way across the globe, others say she abandoned me. I know neither can be true. My dad learned to forget about that kind of stuff and realized that I was important now. He couldn’t back down.

Over the next couple of days, I began to feel better, at least physically. It was probably the dozens of drugs they had injected into me. Apparently there was a large count of lead in my blood. I threw on a tee shirt and got ready for my evaluation, just to make sure I was ready to leave. No one knew what had happened before I was found.

“Hello Ms. Sharp! How are you today?” my psychologist, Dr. Eyes asks.
“Fine.” I quickly reply.
Dr. Eyes had helped me recover during the loss of my mother.
She was also my mom’s best friend.
Dr. Eyes… I’ve always thought it was such a peculiar name.
TYPO >

The city is really Durham not Dunham.
By the way, I am open to all criticism! I love it when people give me suggestions. So if you hated it, feel free to say so. I’d rather have the truth.

Best answer:

Answer by Elizabeth P
It’s alright. Good suspense. But it seems there’s much too much pathos-and-violence ridden work these days that it just seems like more of the same. Well written, but somewhat unoriginal.

A clip from the Hazelden video entitled “Cross-addiction: The Back Door to Relapse.” Cross-addiction is the single greatest relapse factor. Those who seek treatment generally have an honest desire to remain abstinent from alcohol or another drug of choice. Yet most can also name a drug they’ve tried that they consider “safe” for themselves, one they believe they can control. The full-length video features first-hand testimony from recovering alcoholics and addicts, chemical dependency professionals, and a medical doctor which dispel the myth that there is any such thing as a “safe” substance for people in recovery. The full-length program ends with a message of hope as the recovering individuals share the joys and triumphs complete abstinence brought to their lives.

Question by alex b: 21st birthday party for a recovering addict..?
I am a recovering drug and alcohol addict but my 21st birthday is coming up. I am okay not drinking or using to celebrate my birthday, but I would still like to do something fun with my friends…what are some good ideas? I have a good budget but nothing too extravagant…

Best answer:

Answer by BlueSea
Who in the helk says when you turn 21 booze must be involved? What do you like to do?? Bowl? Golf? Go to movies? Rock climb? Ice Skate? Go to dinner? Figure it out and call up some good friends who know how hard you are working to maintain your sobriety and just have fun. even if it means just having everyone over for a dinner at home and renting a movie.

Good Luck, stick with it and HAPPY FREAKING BIRTHDAY>

Question by Lovemylifefriendsfamily: Please answer the following, i need as many asnwers as possible…………?
The following is a survey for my college group project that i am doing on euthanasia, could u please take the time to fill out the following questions, it would mean so much to me. In addition, if u could kindly add your age, and indicate how religious are u. Thank you sooooooo much.

Questions:

1) Would u be willing to donate your organs? yes or no and why?

2) What are ordinary means and extraordinary means to you?

3) Do u think euthanasia should be legal or illegal?

4) If a member of ur family were terminally ill and asked for ur help in ending his/her life, what would u do?

5) Do u mostly agree with passive or active euthanasia?
(passive is letting the patient die without any further treatment being taken, and active is injecting the patient with a lethal drug to make them die quicker).

6)Do you agree with euthanasia?

7) (Think about) when does life end—-
is it when God decides or when you r physcially unable?

Best answer:

Answer by Landon W
1) Yes because if died I would want someone else to live in my place.

2) idk

3) idk what euthanasia is lol

4) if thats what they wanted then i would do it

5) idk what that is lol

6) idk what that is

7) when God decides it’s time for you to go.

Question by : Do you have to be obese or really overweight to have a binge eating disorder?
Well i have always had a problem with food. Its just these days there’s so many different names for eating disorders so i dont know…
I had anorexia when i was 13-15. i recovered quickly and started binging. Not being sick, just eating alot of junk food all at once. I never had problems with being overweight up until a year ago ( i was on anti depressants tho)….anyway, recently i feel “normal-ish”. I’ve tried to control what i eat and exercise. I would say im quite an extreme person, either one way or the other, there seems to be no inbetween for me.
So yesterday i bought a tin of celebrations and i’ve nearly finished the lot and i feel sick but i cant stop and i dont know why because i thought i didnt crave sugar anymore. Once, i had to sleep with a bucket next to my bed cuz i ate so much and even though i thought to myself the only thing thats gona make me stop eating chocolate and crap is if im sick…….so now im quite slim, i feel good, but im angry that i have just binged…so what can i do? starve myself of sugar like a drug addict??
Portion controls doesn’t work for me unfortunately. And “a lot” would be enough to make me sick.

Best answer:

Answer by John S
Define “a lot”? Eating 12 Doritos is normal; eating 70 is sick.

I would advise portion controls, not going cold turkey.

What do you think? Answer below!
