Seizure caused by alcohol withdrawal. These are the DT’s, also known as delirium tremens and are caused by the withdrawals from alcohol. Alcohol withdrawals can kill and everyone needs to know this.

    I was a heroin addict and your right quitting wasn’t easy but with suboxone my little helper;) it was a lot easier than staying clean anyone can do a few days a week or even a year but your whole life is a battle. I could fathom what it would be like to walk into a store and see bags of dope all over the walls name brand shit and all…you are very powerful going into a gas station that has cases upon case of beer doesnt bother you?? It would make me go insane but good luck. :)

    Actually you can die from heroin withdrawal. Its not common, because most usually detox from heroin under supervision. Most alcohol detox is done alone. You don’t want to detox from heroin alone. Heroin withdrawal is infinitely more painful than alcohol withdrawal and the doing yourself in just to stop the pain is a VERY REAL DANGER. On a biological level, alcohol withdrawal is more dangerous, but not on a psychological level, because the pain of heroin withdrawal is beyond comprehension.

    That is so horrible. I never realized how bad alcohol could be. My mom is an alcoholic, has been in the hospital for 3 days, and is hallucinating. I never realized it was going to be this hard for my mom or our family.

    Alcohol and benzos are the only drugs whose withdrawal symptoms will kill you outright.
    If you start hallucinating when you stop drinking, get yourself to a hospital FAST.

    Been to AA, bunch of sob stories, coming off diazepam was the worst thing ever because i just cold turkeyed it and stopped drinking, I still drink at the weekends and i either crash out or do something silly, I just need to leave it out now completely and I will. Take care, Shane.
